Sonam was molested when she was 13 years old
Sonam Kapoor herself talked about this incident. She said in Rajeev Masand’s show, “Everyone is a victim of sexual abuse at some point in their childhood. I know that I was also molested in my childhood and that was a big trauma for me. I did not tell anyone about this for about two-three years. I remember that incident completely till today.”
The actress further said, “This incident happened in Mumbai’s Gaiety Galaxy theatre where she had gone to watch a movie with her friends. Everyone had come out to buy some food items when a man came from behind and pressed my breasts. Obviously I was young then so I did not have a figure. But when this happened to me, I started trembling. I did not understand what was happening and I started crying right there. But I did not talk to anyone about it. I went back inside and sat down and watched the whole movie because at that time I felt that I had done something wrong.”
